It’s just a nice little show in the shadow of two big – and important – exhibitions at the Rijksmuseum – Hercules Segers and Frans Post, both XVIIth century painters – but it’s charming and it’s worth spending a moment there. Ninety photographs of flowers, fruits, leaves, animals – to show the artists of those days how to paint them. So it’s a ‘modern’ invention – photography – at the service of art. At the same time, these compositions are pieces of art in themselves. Make sure you take a look when you’re in the Rijksmuseum or thereabouts.
